About The Position

Senior Flexonics Pathway is seeking a Machine Operator/General Laborer to join their team. This role involves operating fabricating machines, sandblasting equipment, forklifts, and carpentry tools to produce high-quality metal expansion joints, damper products, and fabric expansion joints. The position offers the opportunity to be part of a team crafting critical, technically challenging parts installed in facilities worldwide.

Requirements

  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Able to read and interpret drawings and follow work instructions.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; use basic measuring tools.
  • Must have sufficient visual acuity to operate machines and visually inspect parts produced.
  • Required to stand, walk and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; to talk and hear, to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds – all with the assistance of a variety of lifting devices/equipment.
  • Must have excellent organizational and communication skills with ability to work well with external and internal customers.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school graduate preferred.
  • Related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate fabricating machines, sandblasting equipment, forklifts, and carpentry tools.
  • Move equipment/load trucks with a forklift.
  • Sandblast or clean a variety of surfaces for the painting process.
  • Package equipment for shipment within boxes and crates.
  • Review schedule, prioritize daily work, and review specifications and blueprints to determine machine and material requirements.
  • Review inventory against anticipated workload to maintain adequate stocking levels.
  • Detect and report defective materials to management.
  • Design and implement work methods and procedures to increase productivity and improve throughput.
  • Follow all safety rules regarding machine operation and proper guarding.
  • Organize and maintain work area to achieve safe, clean, and efficient operations.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and use proper personal protective equipment.
  • Operate equipment and industrial truck to move materials around facility.
  • Work with lumber/crates/skids packaging products appropriately to prevent damage in transit.
  • Operate air-powered abrasive blasting equipment to remove mill scale, rust, and other foreign matter to prepare for the paint process.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management.
