About The Position

The General Machine Operator performs production work as directed to assist Machine Operators with setting up and operating machines. The role handles and transports raw materials, parts, supplies, tools, fixtures, dies, and trucks; supports material movement and storage across departments; and follows standardized methods of work. The position involves regular exposure to material-handling equipment, noise, moving objects, and temperature extremes, along with frequent standing, balancing, walking, and handling loads.

• Ability to see well, including depth perception and the ability to distinguish between colors.
• Ability to stand and balance continuously or nearly continuously.
• Ability to walk, lift, carry 25–50 pounds, stoop, twist, and reach overhead and to the side frequently, for four or more hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Perform production work as directed to assist Machine Operators with setting up and operating machines.
• Handle and transport raw materials, parts, supplies, tools, fixtures, dies, and trucks.
• Work in all departments to load and unload trucks, count, weigh, transport, and pile materials in storage areas.
• Position and handle materials to load and unload conveyors, racks, containers, and processing equipment.
• Deliver materials and parts to manufacturing departments as directed.
• Clean materials.
• Follow standardized methods of work.
