About The Position

The Machine Operator Floater works in Carr Lane Manufacturing’s Ball Lock department. Daily duties vary according to business needs and may include ball lock assembly, staking, sledging, and operating manual machines. This is an entry-level opportunity to learn ball lock pin assembly and manufacturing. The position is located in Elgin, Texas, and the stated shift is 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday, after a training period. The role reports to the Second Shift Supervisor.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
Ability to follow directions carefully and adhere to deadlines.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to meet the listed physical requirements, including lifting up to 35 pounds and close visual acuity.
Able to work in an environment subject to noise, hazards, and oils.

Nice To Haves

Prior manufacturing, production, or assembly experience.
Ability to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

Perform standard ball lock assembly procedures, rework, and repair on manufactured equipment and products while following established safety procedures.
Set up manual machines daily and produce components to standard and special tolerances according to drawings and specifications, using tooling and machine programs to maintain tolerances.
Operate a manual drill press.
Perform quality checks during assembly and, when needed, test assembled parts or products for proper function and quality.
Read and interpret blueprints or drawings to assemble pins.
Perform other duties within the department as assigned.
