Machine Operator, Cutting (Days)
About The Position
The Bernard Group is seeking Machine Operators to join their Cutting Department. This role involves operating a Zund digital die cutting machine to cut printed materials into specific shapes and sizes according to exact specifications, ensuring timely and high-quality production. The company is 100% employee-owned and focuses on visual merchandising for the retail industry, using sustainable materials and supporting social change. Shifts available are Sunday - Tuesday or Wednesday - Friday, from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, totaling a 36-hour work week with a rotating schedule every four months. This position is overtime eligible.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED
- Previous work experience in printing, print operations, cutting, or machine operations is a plus but not required
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Pay close attention to details on every project
- Basic computer skills, including ePace and Google
- Self-motivated, a fast learner, and show initiative to seek out customer and corporate needs
- Plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage your own work
- Ability to work independently, make decisions and solve moderate level problems independently, effectively and creatively
- Complete projects accurately within deadlines, while meeting Company quality standards
- Apply effective time management and self-management skills
- Understand and maintain the confidential nature of the company, employee and customer information
- Able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
- Strong interpersonal skills including, demonstrated listening skills and the ability to present ideas and thoughts concisely and effectively both internally and outside the organization

Responsibilities
- Operate Zund cutting machines to form printed materials to customer specifications
- Perform Quality Control (QC) procedures to meet Company standards
- Perform maintenance of Zund machinery and equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and cleaning of machines at beginning of each shift
