About The Position

This role supports a manufacturing operation by assisting the machine operator. The goal is to increase productivity and decrease downtime and waste. The position requires availability for either the 2nd shift (3 PM-11 PM) or the 3rd shift (11 PM-7 AM). Responsibilities include supporting the machine operator in setting up orders, mounting printing and cutting dies, making ink adjustments, and performing quality checks. The assistant will also inspect the machine during operation, notify the operator of issues, assist with equipment cleanup, and adhere to safety and lock-out tag-out procedures. Maintaining the shop and equipment according to 5S Standards is also a key part of the role, along with performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Passionate about maintaining a safe work environment.
• Ability to stack parts up to 30 lbs. for a period of up to 12 hours.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends, as needed.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must be willing to work closely on a day-to-day basis with other production personnel.
• Ability to share ideas with others to solve problems of essential importance.

Responsibilities

• Availability to work 2nd shift 3pm-11pm or 3rd shift 11pm-7am
• Work as part of a team in support of a manufacturing operation with a goal of increasing productivity; decreasing downtime and waste.
• Receive and follow directions from the Operator and/or Supervisor.
• Assist machine operator to set up orders, mount printing and cutting dies, ink adjustments, and ensure quality checks are performed before, during and upon completion of each order.
• Inspect machine during run and notify Operator when acceptable parts are not being produced.
• Assist in cleanup of equipment.
• Follow all company safety rules and lock-out tag-out procedures.
• Maintain shop and shop equipment per 5S Standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
