Machine Operator 2

Semtech•Colorado Springs, CO

About The Position

The Machine Operator 2 performs intermediate machine operation activities in a semiconductor manufacturing environment. The role manages equipment operations, implements setup procedures, and maintains production standards, applying knowledge of machine operation principles and technical skills with limited supervision. The position operates complex machinery to specifications, monitors machine parameters, performs setups and changeovers, and supports in-process quality control and production efficiency. It also involves collaboration with maintenance, quality, production planning, technical staff, and supervisors; troubleshooting routine operational issues; documenting setups, quality results, efficiency, and resolutions; and contributing improvement suggestions. The role performs moderately complex work that requires technical judgment, accuracy, and the ability to manage machines with interdependent components and parameters. The operator works with moderate independence on assigned machinery, follows established policies and safety protocols, and escalates complex equipment issues. Minimal travel is required—less than 10% of the time—with occasional travel between company facilities possible.
