About The Position

Stella-Jones is seeking a Machine Operator 2 to perform operational work involving the receipt, shipment, storage, distribution, or delivery of products, parts, and materials. The role loads, unloads, moves, and stores items according to delivery or routing documents or supervisor instructions, and operates heavy equipment.

The operator must proficiently operate three machines selected from the following: Forklift, Knuckle-boom, Runaround, Wood Boiler Support, Prentice Support, Endplate Station Support, and Trimmer Support. Proficiency means consistently meeting or exceeding target production levels. The employee completes inspection and maintenance reports, performs daily maintenance, supports supervisors in ensuring procedures are followed, and contributes to the company safety program. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of heavy industrial machine operations experience.
• Operating certificate for equipment, obtained independently or through the company.
• Good eye-hand coordination.
• Ability to use common-sense understanding to carry out instructions.
• Annual OSHA forklift training.

• Wood products experience.

Responsibilities

• Proficiently operate three assigned machines from the listed equipment and support stations, consistently meeting or exceeding target production levels.
• Complete daily inspection and maintenance reports for assigned machines and identify operational issues.
• Perform daily maintenance on assigned machines.
• Take initiative to assist supervisors in ensuring procedures are followed correctly.
• Participate in and contribute to the company safety program.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• Load, unload, move, and store products, parts, and materials according to delivery or routing documents or supervisor instructions.
