About The Position

The Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical/electrical equipment. This role involves inspecting, troubleshooting, and evaluating equipment to determine the root cause of problems. The technician will disassemble machines, repair or replace broken parts, and adjust functional parts as necessary. Additionally, they will clean and lubricate parts, order replacement parts, inspect completed repairs, and ensure equipment is returned to specifications. The role also requires adapting procedures and tools to meet special needs and serving as a resource for complex problem-solving.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 2 years prior machine maintenance experience
  • Strong mechanical/electrical understanding of complex equipment
  • Use of basic hand tools and power tools
  • Knowledge of machine tools and their use
  • Knowledge of basic electrical and electronic repairs

Nice To Haves

  • HS/GED
  • 3 years prior machine maintenance experience
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to follow diagrams, schematics, manuals, instructions and engineering specifications

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and maintains machinery, mechanical/electrical equipment through inspection, troubleshooting, and evaluation to determine root cause of problems.
  • Disassembles machines and repairs or replaces broken parts.
  • Adjusts functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary.
  • Cleans and lubricates parts.
  • Orders replacement parts.
  • Inspects completed repairs and returns equipment to specifications.
  • Adapts procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet special needs.
  • Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
