About The Position

The Machine Maintenance Technician on the 2nd shift is responsible for the repair and maintenance of machinery and mechanical/electrical equipment. This involves inspecting, troubleshooting, and evaluating problems to determine their root cause. Key tasks include disassembling machines, repairing or replacing broken parts, adjusting functional components, cleaning and lubricating parts, ordering replacements, and inspecting completed repairs to ensure equipment meets specifications. The technician will also adapt procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment as needed and serve as a resource for resolving complex issues. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 2 years prior machine maintenance experience.
  • Strong mechanical/electrical understanding of complex equipment.
  • Use of basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Knowledge of machine tools and their use.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical and electronic repairs.

Nice To Haves

  • Education: HS/GED
  • Experience: 3 years prior machine maintenance experience.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to follow diagrams, schematics, manuals, instructions and engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and maintains machinery, mechanical/electrical equipment through inspection, troubleshooting, and evaluation to determine root cause of problems.
  • Disassembles machines and repairs or replaces broken parts.
  • Adjusts functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary.
  • Cleans and lubricates parts, orders replacement parts, inspects completed repairs and returns equipment to specifications.
  • Adapts procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet special needs.
  • Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
