About The Position

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading all machine maintenance and reliability activities across the plant (excluding site facilities), supporting plastics processing (injection molding, blow molding, automation/robotics), CNC machining, instrument assembly, centrifuge assembly, and final test operations. This role ensures equipment reliability, minimizes unplanned downtime, and drives a transition from reactive maintenance to a structured, proactive maintenance system. The Maintenance Supervisor partners cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Quality to support production performance and continuous improvement. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Manufacturing/Process Engineering and is part of the Beckman Coulter Life Science Manufacturing located in Indianapolis, IN and will be an on-site role.

Requirements

  • High School Degree with 8+ years of experience or Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years experience or Master’s Degree with 3+ years experience.
  • Experience with instrumentation (equipment) design and integration including complex electro-mechanical systems, fluid handling, pneumatics, thermal systems, and/or optical systems.
  • Demonstrated expertise in maintaining and troubleshooting CNC and injection/blow molding equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, with strong leadership, workflow coordination, and data‑driven decision‑making skills to ensure machine uptime across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee overall plant maintenance performance, ensuring high equipment uptime, strong reliability, and effective execution of maintenance activities while driving measurable improvements in downtime reduction, PM compliance, and maintenance productivity.
  • Lead and develop a team of maintenance technicians by setting daily priorities, assigning and overseeing work execution, establishing accountability for performance, safety, and workmanship, and delivering ongoing coaching and skill development.
  • Provide clear visibility to leadership on maintenance performance trends, risks, and ongoing improvement actions to support informed decision‑making.
