Position Summary The Machine Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing safe and efficient operation, maintenance and upkeep of all CNC’s and machining equipment. This dynamic position requires the ability to anticipate needs, think critically, and offer solutions to problems.

Requirements

  • Must have a High School Diploma.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in industrial maintenance environment required
  • 3+ years supervisory or management experience, union environment preferred
  • Strong advocate for safety, health and environmental issues
  • High degree of organizational communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Proven track record in improving culture within workplace environments
  • Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Good and working knowledge of Word and Excel; experience with an ERP system is preferred
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement environments
  • Must be a US Citizen

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the CNC maintenance union personnel.
  • Assign tasking and priorities to maintenance work orders.
  • Develop hourly and salary work force by providing skills training specific to equipment and processes to improve and maintain the machining assets.
  • Manage a multi-skilled union hourly workforce on 2 shifts
  • Respond to emergencies to facilitate repairs in a timely and effective manner to support production schedules
  • Coordinate all machine maintenance and preventative maintenance activities with Operations personnel.
  • Develop / Maintain Leading indicators to assess dept performance and equipment utilization (KPI’s)
  • Meet with Maintenance Team members by skill classification on a weekly basis to review performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Responsible for the safe work practices within the department and contracted labor
  • Recommend upgrades and maintain the maintenance CMMS
  • Recommend expense and capital projects to upper management and manage the projects from investigation to completion.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory policies and division policies and procedures
  • Maintain and update standard practices as necessary
  • Manage overtime and call-in requirements per the labor contract
  • Evaluate and maintain parts orders and department inventory
  • Other projects/duties as assigned for the overall benefit of the organization.
