We are looking for a (2nd shift) Machine Maintenance Supervisor to join the team at our Norridge, IL location. Requirements

  • Electrical and network infrastructure markets knowledge
  • Experience with casting machines, process parameters, sampling, process development and casting quality
  • Experience with maintenance personnel supervision
  • Proficiency in Lock Out/Tag Out Procedure
  • Experience with safety gas shut off valves
  • Experience with melting pots, goosenecks and nozzles in die casting machines
  • Experience with furnace top plates
  • Troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic pumps, hydraulic and air cylinders, and solenoid valves
  • Repair of die cast machine clamping presses and spray systems
  • Replacement of worn out pins, linkages, bushings, etc.
  • Repair of pump motors
  • Replacement of oil and oil filters
  • Repair of hydraulic accumulators
  • Creation of procedures to standardize repairs
  • Daily checks of die casting machines for oil, air, water and gas leaks
  • Electrical wiring for lighting and other electrical systems
  • Installation of electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment
  • Installation of safety and distribution components (24, 120, 240 & 480 volts)
  • Connecting wiring in electrical circuits and networks (24, 120, 240 & 480 volts)
  • Preparation and assembly of conduits
  • Routine inspection and replacement of old wiring and insulated cables
  • Troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems
  • Ability to stop production when non-conformity has been detected
  • Following non-conforming material procedure
  • Providing customer corrective action assistance
  • Ensuring production meets quality standards
  • Reporting quality concerns
  • Cross-training with other Team Leaders
  • Training Machine Maintenance Mechanics
  • Obtaining machine failure information from operator and troubleshooting/correcting problems
  • Requesting assistance from operator and/or Setup Technician for repairs
  • Maintaining and upgrading die casting machines
  • Acting as a liaison between shifts
  • Informing Plant Engineering Manager of building and/or machinery concerns
  • Directing machine operators
  • Operating machines within specified process parameters
  • Adjusting operating equipment
  • Document control of minor process changes
  • Reporting changes to procedures
  • Maintaining inventory and requisitioning supplies
  • General housekeeping of department
  • Supervising and evaluating department employees
  • Assigning duties and issuing work instructions
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Responsibilities

  • Perform or assist subordinates in performing duties
  • Review and/or update job descriptions for direct reports as necessary
  • Follow Lock Out/Tag Out Procedure
  • Oversee the process of safety gas shut off valves and repair or replace as needed
  • Oversee the process of melting pots, goosenecks and nozzles in all die casting machines and replace with operator’s assistance
  • When replacing melting pot, check furnace top plate, repair or replace as needed
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic pumps, hydraulic and air cylinders, and solenoid valves
  • Oversee the repair die cast machine clamping presses and spray system
  • Replace worn out pins, linkages, bushings, etc.; assemble, adjust, and test
  • Check pump motors for noise and vibration and repair as needed
  • Check and replace oil and oil filters as needed
  • Repair hydraulic accumulators as needed
  • Create procedures to standardize repairs across the board
  • Check die casting machines daily for oil, air, water and gas leaks. Have repaired if needed
  • Execute plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning lighting and other electrical systems
  • Install electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment for alarm and other systems
  • Install safety and distribution components (i.e. switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc. for 24, 120, 240 & 480 volts)
  • Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components (24, 120, 240 & 480 volts)
  • Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them
  • Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc.
  • Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units
  • Stop production when non-conformity has been detected
  • Responsible for following non-conforming material procedure
  • Provide customer corrective action assistance on tools or production processes producing defective parts
  • Work with relevant personnel to ensure production meets quality standards
  • Report quality concerns
  • Cross train with other Team Leaders
  • Train Machine Maintenance Mechanics
  • Obtain machine failure information from operator then troubleshoot and correct problem
  • Request assistance from operator and/or Setup Technician to make repairs as needed
  • Maintain and upgrade die casting machines per supervisor’s request
  • Act as a liaison between shifts to maintain effective communication
  • Inform Plant Engineering Manager of any building and/or machinery concerns
  • Work with applicable personnel daily to help direct machine operators
  • Responsible for operating machines within specified process parameters
  • Adjust operating equipment as needed
  • Responsible for document control of minor process changes
  • Report any changes to procedures
  • Maintain inventory and requisition supplies as needed
  • Assist in the general housekeeping of department
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Engineering Manager
  • Supervise and evaluate all department employees
  • Assign duties and issue verbal or written work instructions
