About The Position

The focus of this position will be the service and support of high-tech positioning technologies, instruments, and related software as it pertains to the construction/survey arena. This role involves providing shop and field installation of machine control components, system troubleshooting, and training support for construction machine control customers and other technicians. The technician will also perform light duty machine repairs, factory campaigns, and bench testing, calibration, repair, and firmware/software updates of construction survey related instruments and equipment. Daily completion and submission of service reports, warranty documentation, and photographs are required. The technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of their assigned vehicle and must attend all designated company meetings, industry events, and training sessions. Some overnight travel for manufacturers' training events and installations will be required.

Requirements

  • 2+ years’ service experience with electronics, mechanical, hydraulics and/or electrical.
  • Technical / mechanical aptitude with the ability and desire to learn new technologies and become knowledgeable and proficient in working with world-class construction and survey-related products.
  • Must be a dependable, motivated self-starter with a solid work ethic, positive attitude, and service orientation.
  • Good communications skills to effectively deal with people face-to-face, on the telephone, and via e-mail.
  • PC skills in using Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer.
  • Will be required to learn Bramco computer systems, software applications and reporting processes.
  • Ability to research, locate, attend, and successfully complete factory-sponsored courses and programs, online classes and tutorials, and other such educational opportunities.
  • Must be able to act with empathy for our Customers, understanding their needs and responding in a manner that meets or exceeds their expectations and serves their best interests.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Topcon, Trimble, or Leica technology and installation experience is preferred.
  • Two-year degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology or related field of study is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Shop and Field installation of machine control components, system trouble shooting and training support for construction machine control customers and other technicians via in person, phone or email as required.
  • Daily completion and submission of all service reports, service-related forms, warranty documentation and photographs as directed by service management.
  • Perform Shop and Field light duty machine repairs and factory campaigns as directed by management.
  • Provide daily updates to the customer and or the Technology Support & Repair Manager for job progress or job completion to ensure quality of repair and original scope of work has not altered from first Customer contact.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the assigned vehicle.
  • Attend and actively participate in all designated company meetings (staff meetings, monthly safety meetings, service meetings, planning sessions, etc.), industry/association events, and appropriate training sessions.
  • Adheres to all applicable laws, company policies and procedures, and business ethics codes.
  • Attend training and obtain certifications where applicable on designated equipment and processes to deliver excellent technical service and support to customers and fellow employees.
  • Perform bench testing, calibration, repair, firmware / software updates of construction survey related instruments and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as required.
