About The Position

The Machine Attendant is responsible for setting up and tearing down all equipment required to run a given product. This role involves understanding and being trained on all safety-related responsibilities, including the proper use of lockout/tagout programs, pinch points, and ergonomics. The position requires the ability to read product specification sheets for proper packaging and label formatting, and to communicate daily issues and needs with management, maintenance, packaging leads, warehouse, and label makers. The Machine Attendant must maintain proper operating speeds, troubleshoot minor equipment problems, and notify maintenance and supervision for assistance with troubleshooting. This role performs all product packaging duties and involves repetitive motion on a consistent and steady basis. Team members must be willing and able to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 50 lbs. They must also be willing to work in extreme temperatures ranging from 39F to 90F for up to 8-10 hours a day and clean their area routinely before breaks. Team members have an individual responsibility to report all possible deficiencies or practices that could compromise food safety. Certain roles at Tyson require background checks.

Requirements

  • Must have 6 months of employment with one employer within the last 24 months.

  • Performing all product packaging duties.

  • Standing, walking, and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. when required.
  • Working in extreme temperatures ranging from 39F to 90F for up to 8-10 hours a day.
  • Cleaning area routinely before leaving for breaks.
  • Reporting all possible deficiencies or practices that could compromise food safety.
