About The Position

Opus Packaging is a premier packaging company and supplier of corrugated products. We are currently searching for a 3rd Shift Machine Assistant for our Jackson, MI location. As a Machine Assistant you can expect to produce corrugated or chip packaging products for our customers in coherence with promoting the corporate vision, mission statement, and core values.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedural documents.
• Work safely.
• Good hand - eye coordination.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in warehouse or packaging environment.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to properly use and understand the required measurement equipment including tape measures, micrometers, and other tools as required by specific jobs.

Responsibilities

• Produce corrugated or chip packaging products for our customers.
• Understand machine set-up, machine runs, plant data entry, handwork, or assembly assignments.
• Bend, reach, stoop, squat and stand for 8 hours.
• Occasional lifting of 50 pounds and frequent lifting of 10-20 pounds.
