About The Position

The Machine Assistant performs manual and machine-operator tasks related to equipment setup, maintenance, and operation. The role assists with preparing jobs according to general specifications, operating machinery in accordance with job orders and procedures, and maintaining quality and safe work practices. The position also involves keeping the work area clean and organized and assisting with training. This is a full-time, second-shift, non-exempt position at the Livermore facility in Livermore, California, with an hourly pay range of $21.00 to $21.50.

Requirements

Speak, read, and write English and have math skills.
High school diploma or GED, or related work experience.
Ability to stand for 8 to 10 hours per day and withstand noisy conditions.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and push and pull loads up to 100 pounds.
Good hand-eye coordination.
Ability to use a pallet jack and weigh scale.
Ability to work well with others in a team environment and under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Willingness and ability to obtain forklift certification.

Responsibilities

Read and follow current work instructions.
Assist with setting up jobs according to general specifications and modify setups when necessary.
Assist in operating machines according to job orders and operating procedures.
Take responsibility for the quality of work.
Initiate action to prevent problems, document quality problems, contribute solutions, verify implementation of solutions, and control further processing when a problem is identified.
Follow accepted safe work practices and standards.
Attend ongoing in-house quality education classes.
Assist with training.
Keep the work area clean and well organized.
Perform manual and machine-operator tasks in equipment setup, maintenance, and operation.
