About The Position

The Machine Operator Assistant keeps flexographic and converting machines supplied with paper, ink, glue, and cartons while learning the mechanics of both older and newer machinery. The role is on a clean, fast-paced production floor and includes working first- or second-shift hours, Monday through Friday. The assistant must follow safety regulations and use required personal protective equipment, complete ongoing training, and maintain dependable attendance. The position may require accommodating non-standard work hours as necessary.

Requirements

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math skills.
• Knowledge and use of assigned hand tools, including a tape measure, screwdriver, and wrenches.
• Ability to maintain consistent, dependable attendance and accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
• Ability to manage job-related stress and foster productive workplace interactions.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds daily.
• Must adhere to safety regulations, including use of personal protective equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Previous machine operating and packaging experience preferred.
• Experience with large rolls of paper or plastic preferred.

Responsibilities

• Change paper rolls and printing plates.
• Monitor machines and keep them supplied with paper, glue, and ink.
• Pack paper bags as necessary.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Maintain a safe working environment on production lines.
• Complete ongoing training as required.
