About The Position

The Machine Assistant supports a corrugated-industry manufacturing operation as part of a team focused on increasing productivity while reducing downtime and waste. The role assists with all jobs on the plant floor and takes an active role in general plant and facilities-related work. The position may require stacking parts weighing up to 30 pounds for periods of up to 12 hours. Work may involve varying temperatures and workloads, and employees must be available for any assigned shift, including first, second, or third shift.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Passion for maintaining a safe work environment.
• Able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Available to work any assigned shift: first, second, or third.
• Good attendance record.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Willing to work closely with other production personnel on a day-to-day basis.
• Able to share ideas with others to solve important problems.
• Excellent communication skills, including strong verbal communication skills.
• Able to thrive in a cross-functional team environment.
• Work with a sense of urgency to reduce machine downtime.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple requests simultaneously.

• Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to support manufacturing productivity and reduce downtime and waste.
• Assist with all jobs on the plant floor.

• Follow company safety rules and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
• Maintain the shop and shop equipment according to 5S Standards.
• Stack parts weighing up to 30 pounds for periods of up to 12 hours, as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
