About The Position

The GI Center is seeking a Referral Coordinator with a Medical Assistant license to triage patient referrals for Clinic, Open Access Procedures, and Inpatient services. This role offers a great opportunity for an MA looking to expand their career and gain deeper knowledge of clinic workflow and patient triage. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Requirements

  • Medical Assistant license
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Medical terminology required
  • 2 years in a medical setting strongly preferred
  • Strong clerical skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual skills a plus
  • 2 years of clinic experience required

Responsibilities

  • Review incoming referrals and ensure the patient is scheduled with the appropriate provider and/or procedure.
  • Complete and verify patient registration, insurance status, and medical history for appropriate scheduling.
  • Oversee the patient registration process and ensure workflow and team interactions follow guidelines.
  • Ensure the front office operates smoothly by handling administrative tasks, coordinating activities, and maintaining a functional workspace.
  • Manage office supplies, schedule meetings, and assist with various administrative duties.
  • Train new team members on front office guidelines.
  • Serve as a customer service professional and remain positive when dealing with stressful situations and multiple demands related to the operations of The Spine Center.
