Requirements

At least two years of experience as medical assistant in a clinic or physician’s office with the ability to perform venipunctures.
At least 12 months of Company employment as a Medical Assistant.
Completion of training and testing by a Company Nurse to verify the MA is competent to access ports.
Head Nurse must certify the MA’s competence once a year.
High school diploma or GED is required.
Valid Driver’s license in state of residency for travel to clinics.
BLS required upon hire or must be obtained within 30 days of employment (FCS will provide BLS course within first 30 days).

Responsibilities

Assist physicians with medical procedures in office.
Responsible for phlebotomy, laboratory testing, quality control, instrument troubleshooting, equipment maintenance and all other duties of Medical Assistant.
At level II the Medical Assistant will be responsible for accessing Groshong and Mediports after being certified by a RN.
Medical Assistant II will need to be recertified annually for this higher position.
