About The Position

Marathon Health is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join their care team. This role is crucial in delivering excellent patient care and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. Due to Marathon Health's unique model, Medical Assistants manage the full patient experience, encompassing both Medical Receptionist duties and clinical responsibilities. The position involves working closely with a primary care physician to provide comprehensive patient care.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Medical Assistant, preferably in Primary Care.
  • CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date.
  • MA certification or registration is required for employment in States where certification/registration is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from a formal Medical Assistant program or other related program.
  • National or state-specific MA certification or registration is strongly preferred.
  • Phlebotomy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to rooms and ensure exam rooms are thoroughly cleaned and stocked.
  • Review previous medical information and gather updated health information from patients for the provider.
  • Take vitals, perform blood draws, administer injections, bandage wounds, and assist with procedures.
  • Collaborate with contracted labs for additional tests.
  • Prepare and administer approved medications and immunizations as directed by the Provider.
  • Partner with the care team to develop individual patient care plans and address gaps in care.
  • Perform front desk duties, including patient scheduling, medical record requests and abstraction, documentation, coordinating specialist visits, referrals, check-in, and check-out.
  • Record accurate and pertinent data in the medical record according to documentation guidelines.
  • Process and provide patients with timely test results via e-message, mail, or phone as instructed by the Provider.
  • Participate in patient outreach to drive engagement among eligible patient groups.
  • Maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment for treatments.
