About The Position

This is a part-time position (20 hours per week) working on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The MA/LPN/RN performs various patient care activities and related services in caring for the needs and comfort of patients under the direction of the physician or mid-level provider. MA duties include obtaining basic assessment information including vital signs, EKGs, and point-of-care testing, advocating for patients, administering prescribed medications, preparing exam rooms, procedure rooms, and assisting providers. The role also involves documenting in the EMR according to TSMH policy and procedures. Each position has specific requirements with unique duties and responsibilities, which can be discussed with the Clinic Director.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency (GED) required
Minimum of one year of experience in a physician office, hospital or ambulatory care facility
Compassionate, dedicated to exceptional patient care
Knowledgeable in medical terminology
Detail-oriented
Excellent interpersonal skills
Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification card on hire or within orientation period
National or state certification required for CMA's

Nice To Haves

Completion of an accredited medical assisting program or nursing program preferred
General clinical technical skills preferred
LPN or RN may be considered
