About The Position

This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week, specifically on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The MA/LPN/RN performs various patient care activities and related services, ensuring the needs and comfort of patients are met under the direction of a physician or mid-level provider. Duties for Medical Assistants include, but are not limited to, obtaining basic assessment information such as vital signs, EKG’s, and point of care testing. The role also involves advocating for patients, administering prescribed medications, preparing exam rooms and procedure rooms, and assisting providers. Documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) must adhere to TSMH policy and procedures. Each position has specific requirements with unique duties and responsibilities, which can be further clarified by the Clinic Director.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency (GED) required
  • National or state certification required for CMA's
  • Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR, certification card on hire or within orientation period
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a physician office, hospital or ambulatory care facility
  • Compassionate, dedicated to exceptional patient care
  • Knowledgeable in medical terminology, detail-oriented, and excellent interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an accredited medical assisting program or nursing program preferred
  • LPN or RN may be considered
  • General clinical technical skills preferred
