About The Position

Adventist Health Howard Memorial is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide general nursing care and related services to assigned patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Medical Doctor (MD), in accordance with established policies. The LVN participates in planning and providing patient care, applies aseptic techniques when performing treatments such as sterile dressings, irrigations, and cauterizations, and provides functional direction to ancillary personnel. The role is based at Adventist Health Howard Memorial in Willits, California, a facility offering primary and specialty care in a state-of-the-art setting.

Requirements

• LVN licensure in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor, per Adventist Health policy.
• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.

Nice To Haves

• High school education, GED, or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Arrhythmia certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for assigned patients under the supervision of an RN and according to established standards and the nursing process.
• Perform admission assessments and ongoing reassessments in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist in developing a prioritized interdisciplinary plan of care for each patient.
• Implement and coordinate plans of care using appropriate organizational skills and reporting mechanisms.
• Implement individual teaching plans, including patient teaching protocols and discharge plans, emphasizing patient decision-making and mutual goal setting.
• Perform assigned clinical procedures, such as phlebotomy, injections, and drug screens.
• Administer medications.
• Order and restock supplies as assigned, according to established par levels.
• Maintain neatness and cleanliness in assigned areas, including pre-op, PACU, soiled corridors, utility rooms, lounges, locker rooms, and restrooms.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly department cleaning according to established schedules and assigned areas.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
