About The Position

Medical City Arlington is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse for its Medical Surgical team. The LVN provides safe, high-quality, patient-centered nursing care, using clinical skills, attention to detail, and compassion to support patients and the care team. This is a night position with rotating weekends.

The role includes focused care for patients with complex needs, such as administering medications, managing lines or drains, and assisting with cardiac monitoring or respiratory support. The nurse closely observes patients for changes in heart rhythm, oxygen levels, or neurological signs and escalates concerns promptly. The LVN also documents care updates, helps patients and families understand conditions and recovery, and collaborates with RNs, providers, and specialists to support stabilization and recovery.

Requirements

• Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN).
• Vocational School Graduate; must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support; must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• One year of experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide focused nursing care for patients with complex needs, including administering medications, managing lines or drains, and assisting with cardiac monitoring or respiratory support.
• Observe patients for changes in status, including heart rhythm, oxygen levels, or neurological signs, and escalate concerns quickly.
• Document timely, accurate updates to support care-team coordination.
• Help patients and families understand complex conditions and recovery steps.
• Work with RNs, providers, and specialists to stabilize patients and guide them from intensive care toward recovery.
