About The Position

Bushburg Properties Inc. is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Luxury Residential Property General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of The Rocklyn at 20 Rockwell Place, a premier luxury residential property in Brooklyn. This is a hands-on leadership position for an experienced General Manager who understands luxury residential operations and knows how to lead teams, manage building performance, maintain exceptional resident experiences, and drive operational and financial results. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with experience managing a luxury, high-rise, multifamily, residential, or large-scale property and is comfortable overseeing all aspects of building operations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of property management experience, preferably in luxury residential, multifamily, high-rise, or large-scale properties.
  • Previous experience as a General Manager or similar leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing and developing on-site teams.
  • Strong knowledge of residential property management and building operations.
  • Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, expense management, and operational planning.
  • Strong understanding of building maintenance, preventative maintenance, vendors, and facilities operations.
  • Knowledge of applicable NYC real estate, housing, building, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong customer service and resident relations experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced residential environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining luxury property standards.
  • Experience with property management software, Microsoft Office, and other operational systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Hospitality, Property Management, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and overall performance of the property.
  • Lead and manage property management, maintenance, concierge, and other on-site teams.
  • Establish and maintain high standards for luxury residential property operations, cleanliness, service, and presentation.
  • Ensure the building, amenities, common areas, and resident spaces are consistently maintained to the highest standards.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures that improve efficiency, service, and resident satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and senior leadership to ensure smooth property operations.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for residents and help ensure an exceptional luxury living experience.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, staff, vendors, and ownership.
  • Address resident concerns and operational issues professionally and efficiently.
  • Maintain a strong focus on resident retention, customer service, and resident satisfaction.
  • Ensure the property consistently delivers the level of service expected in a luxury residential community.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop on-site employees.
  • Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable for performance.
  • Create a positive, professional, and service-oriented workplace culture.
  • Conduct staff meetings, performance discussions, and ongoing training.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and effective scheduling to support property operations.
  • Oversee the property's annual operating budget, financial performance, and expense management.
  • Monitor operating expenses and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and control costs.
  • Review financial reports and work with leadership to achieve property goals.
  • Assist with forecasting, budgeting, capital planning, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure expenses remain within approved budgets while maintaining property standards.
  • Oversee building maintenance, repairs, preventative maintenance, and capital projects.
  • Implement and monitor preventative maintenance programs to protect the property's physical condition and long-term value.
  • Work closely with engineering, maintenance teams, and vendors to resolve building issues quickly and effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with building safety requirements, inspections, and applicable NYC housing and real estate regulations.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure contractors meet quality, safety, and service expectations.
  • Partner with leasing and management teams to support occupancy, leasing performance, and resident retention.
  • Monitor property performance and identify opportunities to improve operations and resident satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with ownership and senior management on property initiatives, renovations, capital improvements, and strategic projects.
