Lunchroom Supervisors work under the direction of the Principal at the school to which they are appointed and supervise students who remain on school grounds during the lunch-hour recess. At Claremont Public School, lunch coverage is from 11:50 am to 12:55 pm. The Principal determines the period during which the supervisor is employed and may assign additional noon-hour supervision duties. This is a casual position, with work on a daily or on-call basis during the school year, from September to June. Supervisors generally work approximately 1–2 hours per day, or more depending on school requirements, and must live within a reasonable distance of the school. Applicants apply directly to schools and should submit a cover letter and resume describing their interest and experience, including any interest in working with children with special needs, and provide two business or professional supervisory references.
