About The Position

The Appleview Lunch/Recess Aide is responsible for supervising students in the cafeteria during mealtimes and on the playground. This role involves ensuring student safety, maintaining order, and addressing any issues that arise during these periods. The aide will also be responsible for observing student behavior, reporting infractions, and ensuring a clean and orderly environment.

Requirements

• Ability to supervise students effectively.

• Ability to communicate with administration and school nurse.

Responsibilities

• Supervises students in the cafeteria during meals.
• Circulates among tables during mealtimes to assist children and resolve problems.
• Informs administration of serious infractions of discipline rules by students.
• Observes students not eating lunch and brings it to the attention of the school nurse.
• Ensures the cleanliness of tables and surrounding areas.
• Assists in establishing, implementing, and supervising orderly disposal of food waste and dismissal from the cafeteria.
• Supervises students on the playground and ensures students are being safe and following the rules.
• Performs other duties designated by the Principal.
