About The Position

Establish and maintain a calm and pleasant atmosphere in the school cafeteria. This role involves assisting students with dining habits, organizing lunch lines, and ensuring a safe and orderly environment during meal periods. The Lunch Monitor plays a key role in fostering positive student interactions and adherence to school rules.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting check
• Experience working successfully with children and adults
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Accuracy in completing assigned task
• Daily attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the job.

Responsibilities

• Help students develop and observe proper dining habits, both in terms of etiquette and nutrition.
• Organize students into orderly lines for purchasing food.
• Circulate among the tables during the meal period so as to be available to students.
• Ensure proper disposal of food waste, trays, and utensils.
• Informs any attending teacher at once of any serious infraction of disciplinary rules by students.
• Calls immediately for an attending administrator in the event of any arguments, confrontations or disruptions.
• Report any unsafe conditions to supervisor as soon as possible.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
