About The Position

The lead lunch monitor will provide working direction to the other lunch monitors, oversee lunch and ensure student safety and serve as a backup to the kitchen staff. The tasks listed in this job description are not all encompassing. At any point, New Life Church and Academy reserves the right to add additional or different job duties and remove job duties from this position. Employees of New Life Church and Academy must be able to effectively integrate a gospel centered message into their day-to-day responsibilities, must be a born-again believer who exhibits the Fruit of the Spirit in their daily walk and a regular attendee and supporter of a church whose fundamental beliefs are evangelical in nature.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• No previous experience required
• Ability to interact with students of all ages, helping them with lunch, instructing them on procedures, and maintaining a calm and organized lunch experience.
• Ability to learn and use basic point of sale systems
• Ability to work in the kitchen doing basic food prep and cleaning
• Ability to be flexible to fill in as needed in the kitchen, a la carte and lunchroom
• Ability to lead the other lunch monitors, giving direction as needed, ensuring all responsibilities are covered.
• Must be a born-again believer who exhibits the Fruit of the Spirit in their daily walk and a regular attendee and supporter of a church whose fundamental beliefs are evangelical in nature.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for anyone with questions for the lunch monitor team.
• Provide work direction to the other lunch monitors.
• Oversee students during lunch, address behavioral issues, and ensure student safety.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team and school administrators to solve problems related to the lunchroom.
• Serve as a point of contact for any student safety or behavioral concerns in the lunchroom.
• Collaborate with school nurses and school leaders on student concerns.
• Serve as the primary backup for kitchen staff, filling in when someone is not available to work: Serving lunches, Restocking food and drinks, Plating lunches.
