About The Position

Supervise students in the lunchroom to ensure a safe, orderly, and clean lunch period. This position aligns with the DCS Student Calendar and typically runs from 10:30 AM to 1:15 PM, with approximate times and schedule based on building assignment. The role involves assisting students, maintaining a positive environment, monitoring for food allergies, cleaning tables and floors, and collaborating with Food & Nutrition staff. Reliable attendance and punctuality are required, along with other tasks as assigned by the building principal.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with parents, students and staff.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to be self-directed and ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Good attendance is important for this position and is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise students in the lunchroom to ensure a safe, orderly, and clean lunch period.
  • Assist students in entering and exiting the lunchroom in an orderly fashion.
  • Help to create a positive lunchroom environment.
  • Be aware of students with food allergies and monitor when necessary.
  • Wipe off tables and sweep floors during and between lunches.
  • Work collaboratively with Food & Nutrition staff in regards to serving procedures.
  • Assists in other areas as directed by building principal.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality to assignment required.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
