About The Position

KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools seeks a full-time lunch/hall monitor at KIPP Bold City High School. This role is responsible for monitoring hallways and the cafeteria to ensure the safety and well-being of students, staff, and school facilities. The monitor will supervise students by ensuring adherence to norms and expectations using positive reinforcement, stating clear expectations, and managing student behavior according to school procedures. They will also maintain the schedule for grade-level transitions, monitor time, provide warnings, and assist students in the serving line, hallways, and staircases, directing them to their tables and classes as needed. Successful candidates will enjoy working with high school students, be flexible, and excel at helping the schedule run smoothly.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Promptness
Passing a background check, as required by law
Background screening through the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse in accordance with Florida House Bill 531

Responsibilities

Monitor hallways and cafeteria to ensure the safety and well-being of students, staff, and school facilities.
Supervise students by ensuring adherence to norms and expectations for hallways and cafeteria.
Use positive reinforcement and state clear expectations for students.
Manage all student behavior(s) following the school’s steps.
Maintain the schedule for grade levels, including overseeing transitions, monitoring time, and giving time warnings.
Assist students through the serving line, hallways, and staircases as needed.
Direct students to their tables and classes as needed.
