About The Position

Sims Global Solutions is seeking an LTL Operations Specialist to coordinate freight shipments and support customers, carriers, and internal teams. The role uses the company’s transportation management system (TMS) to quote, schedule, track, and resolve shipment issues. The position operates in a fast-paced environment and requires responsiveness, organization, relationship-building, and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Requirements

• One to three years of experience in transportation, third-party logistics (3PL), freight brokering, or forwarding.
• Extensive knowledge of LTL, TL carrier, and/or international guidelines and lanes.
• A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of training, education, or industry experience.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong ability to negotiate, motivate, and influence others.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, colleagues, and other company teams.
• Proficiency with Gmail programs and comfort using Microsoft Office, a phone, TMS, and email.
• Ability to stay calm and organized under pressure and respond quickly to customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Quote, schedule, and coordinate shipments through the TMS.
• Update client status reports on a load-by-load basis by monitoring email, fax, and voicemail.
• Vet and set up new carrier vendors.
• Cultivate relationships with clients, carriers, and company team members.
• Collaborate with the sales department on client shipping updates and issues.
• Facilitate returns and resolve discrepancies, overages, shortages, and damage issues.
• Manage and process customer and market data.
• Ensure carriers meet their designated appointment times.
• Develop customer solutions using reporting and data.
