LTL Operations Coordinator

About The Position

FLS Transportation is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused LTL Operations Coordinator to join our growing LTL team. This role is responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of LTL shipments and ensuring a seamless customer experience from quote to delivery. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced transportation environment. The LTL Operations Coordinator will oversee daily operational activities including rate quoting, shipment booking, tracking and tracing, customer communication, invoicing, and claims management. This individual will work closely with carriers, customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure efficient and profitable transportation solutions.

Requirements

2+ years of experience in LTL transportation, freight brokerage, logistics, or supply chain operations.
Strong understanding of LTL carrier networks, rating structures, and service offerings.
Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and freight platforms.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Manage all daily LTL shipment activities from order receipt through delivery.
Prepare and provide accurate and competitive customer rate quotes.
Book and dispatch LTL shipments with approved carrier partners.
Coordinate pickups, deliveries, appointment scheduling, and special service requirements.
Ensure shipment information is entered accurately into transportation management systems (TMS).
Monitor shipments from pickup through final delivery.
Proactively track and trace shipments to identify potential service issues or delays.
Communicate shipment updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
Resolve service failures and coordinate corrective actions with carriers.
Review carrier invoices for accuracy and compliance with quoted rates.
Generate and process customer invoices in a timely manner.
Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies.
Support profitability goals through accurate rating and cost management.
Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external partners.
Ensure carrier performance meets service expectations and company standards.
Deliver exceptional customer service and responsiveness.
Support sales initiatives by providing operational expertise and shipment solutions.
