About The Position

South Port Square is seeking a hospitality-driven Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join its team at a senior living community in Port Charlotte, Florida. The LPN is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of medications and treatments, documentation, and responding to emergency calls as indicated. This is a per-diem/PRN role with 6 AM–6 PM and 6 PM–6 AM shifts.

Requirements

• Currently hold an LPN license in good standing from the State of Florida.
• At least 6 months of nursing experience.
• Generate a warm, friendly, and caring manner on first impression.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

• Geriatric involvement is preferable.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications.
• Administer treatments, including dressings, catheterization, suctioning, and oxygen.
• Assist with direct resident care as necessary.
• Maintain accurate documentation of medications administered and care rendered.
• Assist with admission and discharge procedures.
• Respond to the resident emergency call system as indicated.
• Make rounds with physicians and transcribe orders.
• Keep physicians and family informed of changes in a resident’s condition.
• Maintain each resident’s self-respect, personal dignity, and physical safety.
• Assure continuity of services and care.
• Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
• Perform specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
