About The Position
We are seeking a dedicated LPN to join our team in a critical access hospital setting. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of geriatric patient care, including experience with dementia, stroke, and skin care, particularly for the elderly population. This position is based in a rural area located in [City, State]. The unit has 25 beds and operates with a team assignment model, ensuring 2 RNs are on duty at all times. Common patient diagnoses include those in the geriatric population and general rehabilitation post-surgery. The EMR system used is EPIC. A Charge Nurse is available, and staffing includes 2 RNs and Nurse Aides/CNAs on each shift. Patient-managed CPAP is the only respiratory equipment used, and there are no techs available for telemonitoring.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably with ER experience.
- BLS certification required.
- ND state license required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with dementia, stroke, and skin care, particularly for the elderly population.
- Previous Travel Experience is not required.
Responsibilities
- Provide care to geriatric patients, including those with dementia, stroke, and skin conditions.
- Work within a team assignment model with 2 RNs on duty at all times.
- Manage patient-managed CPAP.
- Primarily stay on the MedSurg floor, with the option to volunteer to float to other units if experienced.
- Participate in block scheduling and self-scheduling.
- Work every other weekend and alternating holidays.
- Complete unit-specific orientation, including 3 shifts for training.
