About The Position

This is a temporary position for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide medical care and support within a program serving children. The role involves dispensing medication, implementing doctor's orders, maintaining medical charts, conducting physical screenings, coordinating appointments, and assisting in crisis intervention and behavior management.

Requirements

• Minimum of a High School Diploma.
• Current NY State LPN Certification required.
• Acceptable background clearance, including fingerprinting.

Nice To Haves

• Associates Degree or above preferred.
• Experience with the population of the program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Dispense medication, pick up and implement orders from Psychiatrist & Medical Doctors.
• Ensure medication compliance and medical chart maintenance.
• Conduct physical screenings of children.
• Coordinate medical appointments.
• Make appointments for outside services as indicated, check progress notes.
• Prepare list for infection control, order medical supplies.
• Assist in crisis intervention and recreational activities.
• Participate in behavior management system.
• Transport residents as assigned by supervisor.
