About The Position

This is a temporary position for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide medical care and support within the program. The role involves dispensing medication, implementing physician orders, ensuring medication compliance, maintaining medical charts, conducting physical screenings, coordinating medical appointments, and ordering medical supplies. The LPN will also assist in crisis intervention, participate in behavior management, and transport residents as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum of a High School Diploma.
• Current NY State LPN Certification required.
• Acceptable background clearance, including fingerprinting.

Nice To Haves

• Associates Degree or above preferred.
• Experience with the population of the program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Dispense medication, pick up and implement orders from Psychiatrist & Medical Doctors.
• Ensure medication compliance and medical chart maintenance.
• Conduct physical screenings of children.
• Coordinate medical appointments.
• Make appointments for outside services as indicated, check progress notes.
• Prepare list for infection control, order medical supplies.
• Assist in crisis intervention and recreational activities.
• Participate in behavior management system.
• Transport residents as assigned by supervisor.
