About The Position

The LPN assures the quality and continuity of resident care and supervises the performance of nursing care team members on a designated Neighborhood and shift. The role is based at Messiah Lifeways in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and is part-time on the night shift, from 10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. The schedule includes every weekend and every other holiday. A $6,000 sign-on bonus is available to those who qualify. The LPN helps provide a safe, pleasant environment and a high level of morale for residents and nursing personnel. The role also involves coordinating resident care, communicating with families and physicians, and working with interdisciplinary teams and external partners.

Requirements

Active, unencumbered Pennsylvania LPN license.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, point-of-care (POC) systems, and electronic health record systems.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including effective communication with residents, families, interdisciplinary teams, and external partners in person and by phone.
Effective verbal and written communication across diverse audiences.
Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accuracy and focus in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
Willingness to work every weekend from 10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m.

Nice To Haves

One year of clinical experience (preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

Help provide a safe and pleasant environment and maintain a high level of morale for residents and nursing personnel.
Initiate disciplinary procedures for staff as needed.
Establish and maintain effective interdepartmental working relationships and promote guest relations.
Arrange resident appointment schedules and transportation to other departments or outside appointments.
Observe and evaluate residents’ symptoms and conditions; ensure families and physicians are updated and physician orders are followed.
Plan, implement, and complete residents’ plans of care, which are written on admission and revised continuously.
Supervise nursing care team members on the designated Neighborhood and shift.
