About The Position

This job oversees LPNs and other unlicensed assistive personnel in the performance of nursing care of assigned patients. Maintains a positive work relationship with the healthcare team and provides patient care and service with individuals of all assigned age groups. Performs human resource activities and operates within budget targets. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
  • 3 years of healthcare experience
  • 1 year of relevant leadership experience.
  • Current LPN License in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule (e.g. 24/7, weekend, holiday, on call availability) and travel throughout and between facilities.

  • IV Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates clinical operations and supervises, trains and develops department staff to ensure quality assurance.
  • Performs performance evaluations for LPNs and other clinical/clerical staff as directed by the department manager.
  • Coordinates provider call schedule and provider staff clinic schedules and assignments.
  • Safely administers medication and prescribed therapies utilizing National Patient Safety Guidelines.
  • Provides safe, effective nursing care to ensure an effective patient visit.
  • Answers patients’ questions, resolves issues and escalates concerns as needed.
  • Completes appropriate medical/legal documentation.
  • Adapts to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
