About The Position

The LPN Supervisor, Ambulatory, holds operational and clinical supervisory responsibility, overseeing the daily operations of clinical staff within the department. This role involves managing personnel, ensuring compliance with policies, facility management, patient scheduling, and business-related reporting. The supervisor plays a key role in hiring, supervising, assigning tasks, providing coaching, and implementing disciplinary actions for their team. They must understand patient flow and processes, review daily staffing needs, and adjust clinic schedules to ensure quality patient care. Monitoring workflow, conducting staffing and operations reports, and identifying training needs are also crucial aspects of this position. The supervisor coordinates the purchase of clinic equipment and supplies, demonstrates knowledge of clinic standards, and communicates patient information effectively to physicians and the healthcare team. Collaboration with physicians and administrative staff is essential, as is assisting with strategies for practice efficiency and growth. The role includes providing management reports, presenting a positive representation of services, and contributing to departmental effectiveness through punctual attendance and efficient task completion. Additionally, the LPN Supervisor serves as a preceptor or mentor, provides orientation to new team members, and ensures clinic compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of practical nursing.
  • Current LPN license in the State of Florida renewed every two years.
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Three (3) years of directly related experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of a 30 hours approved IV therapy course may be required for specific clinics.
  • Serves as a preceptor or mentor, to other LPN’s and/or Medical Assistants in the outpatient clinic.
  • Mentors, coaches, and advises staff to maximize performance, comfortable seeking multidisciplinary consultation.
  • Provides department level orientation to new team members to include system software, telephone processes and protocols, office equipment usage, departmental policies and procedures, customer service expectations, job competencies, and coaching plans.
  • Practices efficient use of supplies.
  • Knowledge of medical practice protocols and standards.
  • Skilled in documentation of patient care including reviewing for accuracy and completeness.

  • Ensures clinic compliance with all safety & regulatory guidelines and Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Educates and supervises clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Participates in nursing PI activities as assigned.
  • Practices efficient use of supplies.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized unit.
  • Supports service line leadership with ensuring all clinic staff are compliant with safety and/or regulatory guidelines.
