About The Position

The LPN Supervisor, Ambulatory, holds operational and clinical supervisory responsibility, overseeing the daily operations of clinical staff within the department. This role focuses on personnel supervision, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures, facility management, patient scheduling, and business-related reporting. The supervisor plays a key role in the hiring, supervision, work assignments, coaching, and disciplinary actions of their team members. They must possess a clear understanding of patient flow and processes, review daily staffing requirements, and adjust clinic schedules to ensure good patient care. Additionally, they monitor workflow, conduct staffing and operations reports, identify training needs, and facilitate development opportunities. This role also involves coordinating the purchase of specialized equipment and supplies, communicating patient condition information to physicians and the healthcare team, collaborating with physicians and administrative staff, and assisting with practice efficiency and growth strategies. Management reports are provided for review, planning, and marketing. The supervisor is expected to represent corporate and departmental services positively, maintain punctual attendance, and ensure clinic compliance with all safety and regulatory guidelines. They also serve as a preceptor or mentor to other LPNs and Medical Assistants, provide department-level orientation, and ensure the unit is clean, safe, and organized. Participation in nursing PI activities and efficient use of supplies are also expected.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of practical nursing.
  • Current LPN license in the State of Florida renewed every two years.
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Three (3) years of directly related experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of a 30 hours approved IV therapy course may be required for specific clinics.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily operations of clinical staff within the department.

  • Provides management reports for practice planning, marketing, and development.
  • Serves as a preceptor or mentor to other LPNs and Medical Assistants.
  • Provides department-level orientation to new team members.
  • Ensures clinic compliance with all safety & regulatory guidelines and Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Educates and supervises clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Participates in nursing PI activities as assigned.
  • Practices efficient use of supplies.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized unit.
