About The Position

Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of cardiac care planning. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the physician and health care team. Collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes. Furthers professional growth by engaging in learning activities according to the Board of Nursing standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
  • Current Alabama State LPN License
  • Current CPR certification
  • Two (2) years of professional nursing in a cardiac setting
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care
  • Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions
  • Skill in writing and maintaining records and reports
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, families, physicians, employees, and staff
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Knowledge of the organization’s policies and procedures
  • Upholds effective work habits including, but not limited to, regular attendance, teamwork, initiative, dependability, and promptness

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Collaborates in establishing the plan of care, coordinates and implements care delivery while anticipating patient care needs across the continuum
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, families, physicians, employees, and staff
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
