On our General Surgery 5D Unit, you will be caring for Lutheran’s Bariatric, Neurology, Spinal, and Orthopedic surgery patients. As an LPN on the team, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional, top-quality care to a diverse patient population. In this role, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, all while enhancing your nursing skills through hands-on experience and numerous educational resources offered within the Cleveland Clinic system. A caregiver in this role works nights from 11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. or 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.
Requirements
- Graduate of Accredited LPN program
- Graduate of an accredited Practical or Vocational Nursing Program
- Current Ohio licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- If in ED, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross within one year of hire in ED settings

Responsibilities
- Collect, document and report patient data and observations.
- Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.
- Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.
- Perform routine laboratory tests.
- Educate patients and family members.
