About The Position

Carle Health is actively recruiting for an experienced and dynamic BE/BC Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our growing Orthopaedics team at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, Illinois. This is a full-time opportunity for a surgeon with Total Joint Replacement (knee and hip) experience or training, and preferably minimally invasive experience or training. It offers a unique chance to work in a well-supported, full-service practice, allowing the surgeon to build and shape their practice while making a significant impact in a community with a high need for orthopaedic care. The role provides strong clinical autonomy with experienced support staff dedicated to delivering high-quality care across Southeastern Illinois. A predictable 2 weeks on/2 weeks off schedule is designed to support work-life balance. The surgeon will have the opportunity to develop lasting patient relationships and see the direct impact of their care in a close-knit community. All surgeries will be performed at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital (CRMH), a 25-bed Critical Access, DNV-accredited facility with 5 ORs serving 8 Southeastern Illinois counties. The hospital offers established outpatient therapy services, home health support, and Swing Bed inpatient rehabilitation for continuity of care. Block surgical time and dedicated clinic hours are conveniently located on one campus. The role is supported by a broad surgical case mix and hospital services including General Surgery, Oncology, OB/GYN, Ophthalmology, Urology, and Podiatry. There is an opportunity for research and/or academic affiliation with the Carle Illinois College of Medicine. The candidate must be willing to live in and actively engage in the community.

Requirements

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery.
  • Experience or training in Total Joint Replacement (knee and hip).

  • Minimally invasive experience or training preferred.
