LPN or Medical Assistant - 40 Hours Weekly - Family Medicine
About The Position
Essentia Health is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) or certified medical assistant (CMA) to work in family practice at The Lights Clinic in West Fargo, North Dakota. The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 7:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no weekend, holiday, or on-call rotations. The LPN or CMA assists registered nurses, physicians, and other providers and provides direct patient care in an ambulatory care setting. The role performs procedures for which competency has been demonstrated and cares for patients from newborn through elderly age groups. The clinic’s multidisciplinary care teams collaborate with clinical pharmacists, behavioral health providers, and regional specialists to provide continuous care across all stages of life. Candidates must meet the applicable LPN or CMA licensure and certification requirements. AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required within three months of hire.
Requirements
- Education as required for licensure.
- For LPN candidates: A North Dakota LPN license is required upon hire.
- For LPN candidates: A Minnesota LPN license is required within three months of hire.
- For CMA candidates: Current medical assistant registration or certification, or verifiable completion of a medical assistant program; candidates using program completion must become certified within one year of hire and pass the certification exam within two attempts.
- For CMA candidates: Registration as a Medication Assistant III through the North Dakota Board of Nursing is required within 60 days of hire. Medication may not be administered before registration.
- For all candidates: AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required within three months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Assist registered nurses, physicians, and other providers in the ambulatory care setting.
- Provide direct patient care to contribute to Essentia Health’s mission and goals.
- Perform identified procedures for which competency has been demonstrated.
- Care for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly.
