LPN or Medical Assistant - 40 Hours Weekly - Family Medicine
About The Position
Essentia Health is seeking a licensed practical nurse or certified medical assistant to work in family practice at The Lights Clinic in West Fargo, North Dakota. The role works 40 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, from 7:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no weekend, holiday, or on-call rotations. The position assists registered nurses, physicians, and other providers and provides direct patient care in an ambulatory setting to support Essentia Health’s mission and goals. The employee performs identified procedures for which they have demonstrated competency and cares for patients ranging from newborns to older adults. The position requires education appropriate to the applicable licensure or certification. LPN candidates must hold a North Dakota LPN license upon hire and obtain a Minnesota LPN license within three months of hire. Medical assistant candidates must have current registration or certification, or verifiable completion of a medical assistant program and become certified within one year of hire, passing within two attempts. Medical assistant hires must also register as a Medication Assistant III through the North Dakota Board of Nursing within 60 days and may not administer medication before registration. Both LPN and medical assistant candidates must obtain AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within three months of hire.
Requirements
- Education as required for licensure.
- LPN: North Dakota LPN license required upon hire.
- LPN: Minnesota LPN license required within three months of hire.
- Medical assistant: Current registration or certification as a medical assistant, or verifiable completion of a medical assistant program with certification required within one year of hire; certification must be passed within two attempts.
- Medical assistant: Register as a Medication Assistant III through the North Dakota Board of Nursing within 60 days of hire; medication administration is prohibited before registration.
- Both roles: AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within three months of hire.
Responsibilities
