About The Position

This position is for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) who will work on a per diem (PRN) basis. The LPN cares for and treats patients in a medical office, preparing them for examinations, administering injections and medications, dressing wounds, interpreting physician instructions, and assisting with emergencies and minor surgeries. The LPN also handles incoming calls requiring nursing assessment, maintains patient records, sterilizes instruments, and manages supplies. They may also perform laboratory tests, electrocardiograms, and secretarial duties. The CMA performs a variety of clinical and clerical duties under physician supervision, including rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, documenting reasons for visits, assisting with procedures and in-office testing, scheduling appointments, pre-certifications, and referrals. The CMA also handles environmental tasks like cleaning and ordering supplies, and functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team to support the organization's mission. This position will float between offices in Geneve, Berne, Monroe, Decatur, and Monroeville.

Requirements

  • PRN
  • Valid LPN License in the State of Indiana
  • CMA Certification Required or Obtained Within 6 Months of Hire

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a receptionist.
  • Performs secretarial duties.
  • Prepares monthly statements.
  • Assists the physician with patient care such as rooming the patient.
  • Obtains vital signs.
  • Documents the reason for visit.
  • Assists with procedures and in-office testing.
  • Schedules appointments.
  • Handles pre-certifications for procedures.
  • Manages referrals.
  • Performs environmental tasks such as cleaning and ordering supplies.
  • Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
