About The Position
At Sunrise Senior Living, the LPN Medication Nurse provides licensed nursing support through safe medication administration, health monitoring, and accurate clinical documentation. The role contributes to resident safety by helping prevent medication errors, identifying health changes early, and following clinical and regulatory standards. The nurse administers medications and treatments according to physician orders, monitors residents and responds to symptoms, and maintains medication records and supplies. The position also includes communicating changes and concerns, supporting service and health updates and care plan updates, and maintaining compliance with medication procedures.
Requirements
- Active LPN license in good standing.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Strong assessment and documentation skills.

- Experience in senior care or medication administration.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
- Follow the Six Rights of Medication Administration.
- Document accurately and in real time in the MAR/TAR.
- Monitor symptoms and administer medications as ordered for symptom relief.
- Promptly report medication refusals and adverse reactions.
- Conduct Service & Health Updates (SHUs).
- Transcribe physician orders and support care plan updates.
- Observe and report physical, emotional, or cognitive changes.
- Maintain medication carts, complete narcotic counts, and uphold compliance standards.
