About The Position
As a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) at HCA Healthcare, you’ll help deliver safe, high-quality, patient-first care. Your clinical skills, attention to detail, and compassionate presence support positive healing experiences and a team committed to improving human life. You will provide focused nursing care for patients with complex needs in a high-acuity environment and work with RNs, providers, and specialists to stabilize patients and support their transition toward recovery. The position offers opportunities to influence patient care through collaborative relationships with a direct manager and through hospital councils and national nursing initiatives. The role is at Doctors Hospital of Augusta, part of HCA Healthcare.
Requirements
- Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN).
- Vocational school graduate.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- No experience required.
- No travel required.
Responsibilities
- Provide focused nursing care for patients with complex needs, including administering medications, managing lines or drains, and assisting with cardiac monitoring or respiratory support.
- Observe patients for changes in status, including heart rhythm, oxygen levels, or neurological signs, and escalate concerns promptly.
- Document timely and accurate updates to support care-team coordination.
- Help patients and families understand complex conditions and recovery steps.
- Collaborate with RNs, providers, and specialists to stabilize patients and guide them from intensive care toward recovery.
